Formed under YG Entertainment, Blackpink (stylized as BLACKPINK or BLΛƆKPIИK) is a South Korean girl group consisting of the members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosè, and Lisa. The group debuted on August 8th, 2016, with their single album Square One which has the songs “Whistle” and “Boombayah”.
As of 2019, Blackpink is the highest-charting female K-pop act on both Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200. Performances include South Korean shows such as Inkigayo, M Countdown, and Music Core. Awards include Rookie of the Year on Gaon Chart Music Awards, New Artist of the Year by Golden Disc Awards, Best New Artist by Melon Music Awards, and more.
In the United States, Blackpink has also performed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Good Morning America, and The Late Late Show with James Corden. In January 2019, it was announced that Blackpink would perform at Coachella in April 2019.
Blackpink’s second EP, Kill This Love, was released on April 5, 2019. It contains five songs, including the title song “Kill This Love”
